end of month in sight...

Usually, I'd be excitedly posting the monthly Daring Baker's challenge at this time of the month. Unfortunately, a recent existential/career crisis has catapulted my schedule into disarray, thus not allowing me to devote much time into my cooking/baking hobby (or really, anything else outside work). I'm kicking myself for missing this one out because it sounds like such a fun and delicious challenge, our Mary's Bostini Cream Pie! Sighs...

I guess all that I can do for now is to admire my fellow DBers' creations from afar and salivate over their pies. Check them out here!

You may have missed the challenge dealine, but you just have to make this dessert. It is really good. I didn't think I would like the orange flavor added in but it was very mild. Sooo good.

Thanks for visiting my blog.

Save the recipe and make it when life calms down (or make it in order to help life calm down). You can always post to the DB blog and let us all congratulate you in a job well done!

Sorry to hear life is being hectic. Hopefully things will calm down soon!!

As far the pumpkin pasta, yes the sauce was creamy. It had the right amount of onion and garlic in it (although I always add more than what the recipe says). Great for a nice autumn dinner.

Kicking yourself does not sound very helpful: I suggest you save the recipe and make it later for a party to celebrate yourself and the end of a difficult period.

I understand how life can get in the way, no worries. But that doesn't stop you from making the recipe later on!

I hope life settles down a bit and you get everything back on an even keel in time for November's challenge. :-) Life can get crazy sometimes, that's for sure. Hang in there, and take good care of yourself.

Maria, I just replied to you on my site - oops! This is where I get the paper molds that I used for my Bostini. I use them all the time for baking bread - they are simply fantastic and they look great when you give as gives!

I hate it when life comes between me and a good Bostini. Next month!

Hoping that things calm down for you soon, at which point you *must* celebrate your triumph over your current difficulties by celebrating with a Bostini. Or two. Or ten.

Know that I'm thinking of you, wishing for the very best!

Life seems to relish throwing us curve balls like that. Hope things are back in order shortly. Kneading bread might help.

hopefully your schedule will allow you to participate in the November challenge. The bostini is definitely one to try because it was scrumptious and perfect to make for a lot of people during the holidays.
